Nepal tourism promoted at New York Times Travel Show-2019
KATHMANDU: Most of the visitors who attended the New York Times Travel Show-2018 were eager to visit Nepal at least once in their lifetime, AC Sherpa, Nepal’s Honorary Consul for Seattle in Washington State of the United States of America said.
Sherpa, who took part in the Travel Show (January 27-29) in New York to promote Nepal’s tourism, informed that the worldwide visitors wanted to make Nepal as theirs’ one of the holiday destinations.
“The visitors were also provided with different promotional materials except the one-on-one briefing in the event,” he added.
According to the Deputy Regional Coordinator (Americas) for the International Coordination Council of Non-Resident Nepali Association, the event was quite successful in convincing the visitors that Nepal fully bounced back from the devastating earthquakes of 2015.
“The visitors also came to know that Nepal was safe and well prepared to welcome foreign guests.”
Sherpa, who had already climbed all the highest peaks in the seven continents including the Mt Everest, informed the participants that Nepal was the world’s best destination for mountain expedition and peak climbing.
The Seven Summit Foundation General Secretary Tukti Sherpa said that there would be an increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting Nepal as the three-day Travel Show was attended by over 500 exhibitors representing 150 countries.
